With Sylaps, you can talk on audio/video conference and chat with people for free. You can also share your screen, exchange files and invite your existing contacts from across social networks to join the meeting.
No, you don’t need to install anything. We developed Sylaps to be accessible from your browser. We built an app for every platform that you can install to ensure a full Sylaps experience.
File sharing and chat should work on all browsers including mobile.
Sylaps video and voice calls are supported on Chrome, Firefox and Opera desktop.
On mobile, video and voice calls are supported on Android via native or previously mentioned browsers and on iOS via our Native App.
For a full Sylaps experience, utilize one of the previously mentioned browsers. We also have apps available for all major platforms including Android, Windows, OSX and Linux available on the Download page.
Sylaps is free to use: just meet people you want and start a meeting, now.
You do not need to open an account or provide your email to make it work. Simply start a meeting with one click.
Sylaps is not putting any limit on the number of users in the room.
However, there is certainly a limit in terms of user internet bandwidth. We do not recommend having more than 8 users sharing video/audio at the same time for performance and quality reasons.
When you start a meeting, or are in a room, (in the tab Invite) you can connect your social networks and get all your contacts in a list.
There are different ways to invite people in your room. The easiest way is to click on the invite tab and type an email adress or a phone number (with dialing code) and press invite. Or you can simply click on the link icon and copy the room url and paste it where you want (an email, a direct message on twitter, facebook, etc.).
In the invite tab, you can type a phone number (with the dialing code, for example: +33 for France) and invite people by text. They'll get a message with your room link and just have to click on it to start a meeting with you.
On each participant in your room you have 3 buttons on the right bottom. The middle one disables or enables sound of the participant.
To mute your own audio, use the microphone button on the top bar.
To send files to people in your room, click on the Files tab. Click on browse storage or drag and drop files on it and press the share button.
To share your screen use the "Start screen share" button on the top bar. The share screen feature works only on Google Chrome, Firefox and our native desktop apps.
The share screen feature requires an extension due to a Chrome API restriction. When you activate it the first time, you'll have to install the Sylaps share screen extension, and a few seconds later you'll be able to share a specific window or your entire screen.
To lock a room you first need to authenticate and then own the room by creating it or claim an existing one that is not owned by any user already.
Once you own the room, the "Lock Room" button (in the top bar) allows you to lock and unlock your room.
When your room is loocked, no new participant can enter in your room.
Simply click on the "start vocal assistant" button and you'll hear a welcome voice. Vocal assistant will read all notifications and messages for you. It will also execute voice commands like "OKAY, share screen" to share your screen for example.
Yes, click on the "Go full screen" button next to the "Leave Room" button in the top bar and this will initiate a full screen session.
That's really simple, close the window / tab browser or click on the red "Leave Room" button in the top bar.

If you need to communicate technical information to your IT department, Sylaps Network addresses, ports and protocols are the following:

- UDP/TCP to `*.{{appUrl | hostname}}:32355:65535`

Sylaps uses WebRTC, a Web Real-Time Communication API generaly available in modern browsers.
For more information:
Tor Browser is built without WebRTC support, since WebRTC can be used to circumvent Tor's proxy settings via ICE over UDP. In Firefox, WebRTC support is controlled by "media.peerconnection.enabled" preference, and it's set to false by default in Tor Browser. But, even enabling this preference would not turn WebRTC on, since the Firefox binary does not contain the functionality.
